*sigh*

I just found out that it's very likely that my beloved 10 year old German shepherd dog, Gus, has Degenerative Spinal Myelopathy. Essentially, the nerves in his spine are degenerating, eventually leading to paralysis.

I know he's getting older. I know that his passing on is inevitable.

That doesn't make it any easier.

I guess the only thing to do is to make sure he's as happy as he can be while he's here.

Oh, my darling Gus...

Oh dear. That's a very sad business indeed. As a fellow owner of a poor old dog I do know how that is, watching something so important beginning to leave you. :( But yes indeed, we can only care for them while they're here.

He's beautiful!

I feel your pain, and offer you a hug. And a cookie.

Oh my dear twin, I can only repeat: That's so sad. Especially because I kinda *know* him so well. You know what I mean.

Big hugs, luvvie, and... well, all the best. Whatever way.

::big tight smish::

I know just how you feel and this is such a horrible thing to have to go through! We sometimes end up loving our pets much more than some of our family and losing them in whatever manner is just heartbreaking :((
