Thank you! I have to listen to the BBC stories because I've heard how wonderful they are. I think LAST is a story on its own, because we don't know how everything turns out (until later, since Watson is publishing stories in the 1920's and talks about Holmes in the present tense). If the BBC versions are sadder than that, they must be very sad indeed.
I think the War was very difficult for our heroes (and lots and lots of others, obviously). I want to try and capture, at least a little, with this series. Yeah, I have a fascination with late era-H/W, how could you tell?
