Thank you! Dealing with infidelity is quite difficult (I don't want to condone it, yet I think it's somewhat understandable in Watson's situation where he cannot be with the one he loves). And yes, it is a tragedy all around. I actually feel quite bad for Mrs. Watson, since everyone is in a somewhat empty relationship there. But Holmes and Watson belong together and nothing, not even marriage or war, will be able to keep them apart.
