Thank you! I did a bit of research on WWI hospitals, and I just loved the symmetry of the idea of Watson ending up at the same place where he began in training as an army surgeon in the 1870's. Since it was still active in WWI, I just couldn't resist. There were quite a few descriptions about the place (and its problems), and I am certain that Watson is the sort who would have been disturbed by the conditions.

Um... "today's news" simply referred to the letter from his wife, not any specific battle. *ponders editing to make that clearer* Sorry for any confusion!
