As if the LJ Fiasco wasn't bad enough...
Aug. 10th, 2007 01:17 am A Cincinnati-based conservative group led by a self-described former porn addict wants to purge hardcore pay-per-view movies from the nation’s hotel rooms, and it took its fight Thursday to the hometown of LodgeNet Entertainment Corp.
You know, it's not that I ever even watched porn at a hotel on pay-per-view (although now, goddamnit, I want to). It's entirely the principle of the matter. What gives these people the right to determine what someone else can or cannot view?
AUUUGGGHHHH!!!
Can anyone tell me it it's better and more rational in New Zealand? Seriously. I loved the country when I was there on holiday, and right now I really want to get as far away as possible from the U.S. and its puritanical bullshit.

Date: 2007-08-12 05:32 pm (UTC)Very likely. Or at least ban other people having sex since it's imperative that they control what everyone else is doing around them so they don't have to focus on how bloody miserable they are.
I think that's what upsets me the most. If you don't like something, then dont' watch it or don't do it. But why do you feel this desperate need to have everyone else around you, who do not agree with your views, conform to them. What the hell ever happened to free choice?
And there's also usually so much hypocrisy in these conservative social movements -- the guy in the article doesn't want to watch porn anymore, so no one should; our Bible-thumping politicians are usually the first ones named in prostitution scandals; anti-gay preachers are spewing forth hate speech while being involved in gay affairs; the list goes on and on.
You're right -- people should defnitely chop more wood (hmm... there must be some sort of sexual connotation in there).
Sorry for ranting. I think I have too much time to brood ;-)
*off to the woodpile*
*realizes I live by the beach in Los Angeles and there is no woodpile*
*sigh*

Date: 2007-08-13 03:39 pm (UTC)Heh, that's why we never watch porn, and we don't have sex, either, therefore we degenerate.
Erm, did I say degenerate?
*blushes deeply*
I meant, of course, the contrary of generate, i.e. we do not proliferate any more, which isn't entirely true, either, because we in fact do degenerate after all, in a way, erm, just because there are only so many axes and the winters are long and you can get bored by chopping wood all the time, and... *splutters*
*sigh*
Yeah.
